Regardless of whether it's the same bugridden jankfest it's been for the past 10 years or something totally transformative I can't wait for 1.0. I find it interesting how such an inherently niche game has picked up so much popularity over the past decade to the point where a bunchj of AAA devs have tried their own spin on it and just can't seem to nail the special sauce that makes the game so addicting.

Marketing, that's it. Product quality has gone out of the window the moment people realized lying that your product is good is both easier and more profitable than actually making a good product. Pay a couple popular shooter streamers to promote the game and don't even bother to fix the game's core problems, hackers and server lag being the 2 biggest of them. There's a reason most of the people who play this, choose to play the single player version or co-op modded, nullifying both of the main problems.
Marketing is the plague of this age and it's not gonna go anywhere, anytime soon.
