It really is a big game and it gets repetitive. It doesn't get much worse, but shines the most in Cornia and Drakenhold (imo).
It's worth beating it, though. The finale is amazing, especially seeing your maiden actually being present during the finale encounters.

Want to experiment more with counterhits, but it's unrealiable, unfortunately. At the end of Drakenhold, using Bruno as a frontline so that he can use wide counter. It's a foll row 1 PP attack with 100 potency wiki says 100, but I was sure it was 150 What's not to love? But really doesn't work as expected.
But what surprised me: front row Aramis, with the counter belt. 1 PP, 150 potency, and with the high natural crit chance of the fencer class. This kills stuff. Very PP hungry, if he also parries the attack.

About halfway through I started skipping animations when I saw them once or twice. Game kind of did itself a disservice of doing the battle calculations before having the animation play out, creating less incentive to view the animations as they battles start to drag out when you get full squads. Also I was very surprised the game never gave you 6-man squads and capped at 5.

There is enough bullshit you can do about them just keen striking and impaling stuff.
Comments in this thread about the swordmasters being ultimately kinda meh aren't wrong, but they are a fun class to build around and they benefit a lot from buffs.

Like I said, I found having it at the top of their list with a first turn only condition better than disabling it completely. 180 base power vs 100 really does make a difference.
but I was also running a bit of a meme comp with 3 of them so maybe in a more standard team it is better to ignore it completely.
