you have a persistent stash of gear, items, crafting materials, etc.
you equip weapons, ammo, healing items, keys to to unlock valuable loot areas, grenades, whatever you want to bring into a raid, load up the map which will have pve enemies (which have really good AI and can/will kill you if you don't take them seriously) and other players. you loot crafting items, quest items, weapon blueprints (to craft new weapons later), ammo, etc. around the map, kill pve enemies for quests and loot, choose to kill or ignore other players who may have valuable loot on them or better weapons, and find one of the available extraction points on the map to leave the raid at any point. it's not like a BR in that you need to or want to be the last man standing, you just want to survive and make it out alive (and there is a raid timer so if you're still in the raid when it expires you basically die). if you die within the raid you lose everything you looted during, and everything you brought into the raid. if you survive, you add everything to your persistent stash, where you can turn in items for quest completion, craft new weapons, shields, health items, build your base with a crafting station or med bay or gunsmith so you can increase the types of items you can craft
