TF2 introduced matchmaking and our server stopped getting newblood. By then, the internet had already shifted to discord so the amount of people who would interact with the in-game voice chat was also very low. So it was playing casual multiplayer except with quasi-AI players, which is boring as fuck.
So I moved to a fighting game and I have some people I can call acquaintances at least.

Every time I would play video games with friends it would just be horribly inefficient or dumb shit would happen over and over again until I couldn't help but be pissed off. Oh you used all of our slowly gained materials to make yourself 95 of the worst type of Pal sphere in Palworld? Lovely. Oh you did it again after mentioned we gotta be careful with the resources? I would say that's far better than just forcing yourself to speak and bringing up the same discussions over and over again. When you get older you just get tired of it and some never grow out of it. I had to put my friend on mute on Discord when getting on and hanging out with my friend group. I can also tell people do not hangout as much as they used to on the server because he is annoying.

I am ashamed of myself, and i lost most common interests i had with my friends.
And out of all of them, there is only one left that i still meet sometimes IRL, the rest have gone far away and I'm shit at text communication or posting stuff about myself in social media.
I feel, well, stuck.
Everyone has move on, got better jobs, family, cool experiences, all while i promised to visit them someday.
But that was 10 years ago, and yet i still am a hlkl virgin with a shit job already having to struggle with disassociation, with nothing to talk about except videogames that apparently I only like, and the ocassional series that i can't seem to finish entirely for one reason or another.
And yet, despite all of this shit, i don't want to embarrass myself to them by telling them this, make them see that I am garbage.
And even if i try to get new friends online, for some reason every time they turn out to be in a total different timezone and happen to meet them when they are on that rare occasion that they are up at 3am while I am on my normal schedule, and when they want to play I am sleeping.
The people on my timezone usually end up thinking Im a weirdo, and eventually stop talking to me.
So, in the end, i just do work, barely play some single player game, some course or training to feel like im improving myself like if I'm going somewhere, and thats it.
I'm not even trying dating yet, I'll need money for that one, and can barely sustain myself right now.
I know some say that you don't need money to fuck, but I'm also sure it really helps a lot to have money for dating.

My game interests are a bit too niche and a whore got into a relationship with like three of them over two years, effectively splitting the friend group apart and getting them to hate one another.

80% became liberals, 10% became tradlarpers and 10% became chuds. All of them are failed normies and most of their personality and tastes became shit them and their other friends/coworkers see on social media. Most of them got desperate after 26 and started dating some ugly bpdemons who walk all over them. Two married and one is already divorced while the other cut contact with all of his friends little less than a year before marrying, probably because his fiance pressured him into it. I even gave him a shoulder to cry on when he thought that she was cucking him, years back.

I have several friends I play with individually. I used to play with them together, in fact constantly tried to find coop games for three or more. But evertime those two others got together they become extremely competitive and loudmouthed. Im an autist empath and oversensitive hearing, when someone gets overly emotional and loud it plays my nerves like a gong and I tense up. Ended up with muscle pain that took two years to fix from playing with them, now Im deadly afraid to be in the same room or game with them for fear of it happening again. I was arguably one of the most active people in the friend group before they started excluding me, I even tried numerous time to get into their games but they would always find someone else to take my spot if it was a game with limited lobby size and spent my final months in the group chat basically just talking to myself because no one ever responded to my messages specifically. In fact I later learned they made multiple group chats without me in them, just because they didn't want me to talk to them or me to be able to read their conversations.
I was definitely a massive sperg and I could see why they stopped wanting to be around me back then, but none of them even bothered telling me that they disliked me and why, they just all intentionally went out of their way to passively avoid me. So don't give me that "active participant" crap.

We play the FOTM shit, like REPO and Palworld, we play competitive shit like Battlefield and Apex, we play comfy shit like Dinkum and Stardew. We play autistic shit like modded minecraft servers, or Barotrauma. Rougelikes like Spelunky and Barony. Grind-a-thons like Path of Exile or MMOs. Old shit like starcraft and castle crashers. Hell, my buddy wants to run 2-player Xillia now that the remaster is out. Been doing this for 20 years, and I'll die before I stop.

depressive episodes are common. Hard to "cure" (never gonna be fully gone probably) but doing things like getting plenty of sunlight, taking vitamins, making sure you get plenty of sleep, eating red meat, exercising at least twice a week, and doing things you don't want to (that are low risk, like talking to your friends) help the symptoms a lot.
