I will probably try it at some point but the first game felt more linear than Borderlands so idk.
I feel like an RPG should actually have places to explore.

I tried the game out but the writing and dialogue was fucking boring and ham fisted that I stopped playing after about an hour. Legitimately felt like it was a game made for 12 year old redditors.

Mechanically it's decent. One of my main gripes with the first game was that you could just spec everything and pass all the checks easily. This time it's better but now it feels like only Medical, Hacking and Engineering get checks at all.
Really wish the game wasn't so horrifically ugly in every way.

Ok, but is it fun enough to justify me powering through all of the first game? Cause I'm too autistic to start at the sequel.

Only issue with the game is enemies can be way too hard though weapon mods help. I wish it had respawnable enemies so I could grind a bit.

Honestly it looks alot more better than the first one and characters are designed better than the first game. I liked the first game but the Characters looked randomly generated.

The entire game is le epic bredditor, you're basically defaulting to a bad outcome if you don't spec into left-wing perks (speech, le ZSCIENE, etc). The companions - and the world state - basically all end in disaster if you don't have speech/science perks. Also lockpicking is 50 times more prominent than hacking or engineering, which feels a little weird in some future dystopian sci-fi, but it's pretty clear the devs lived in their own bubble where they refused to listen to any criticism. The game is filled with poorly implemented systems.

I like the game, but I have two criticisms of it

>Only two factions that you can side with, Order of Ascendant and Auntie's Choice; you can also get them to work together. No independent option, nor the option to side with the Protectorate

>Level cap is 30, so you only have 62 skill points to work with, and skill checks over the course of the game means you can't do jack-of-all-trades and basically have to min/max

I'm playing on very hard and it took me over an hour to complete the intro level. Am using mainly a melee build. Enemies kill you in like 3 - 4 shots and they have expert accuracy.

But you can bypass most boss fights, including the final boss, with high Speech and info checks

it's not an open world sandbox, it's more of a series of zones separated by a loading screen although you can go between any of the zones you've unlocked. the writing is also way more reddit

Endilng last boss is a straight copy of 3, except you're allowed to order your companions to die.

Companions. you saw the preview pick. Yeah. It's that shit. Overall, it's Avowed tier. Playable, but serious shit. If you hated 1, and hated avowed, don't bother.
