yes, this feels like the more canonical route to me. she counts on chloe to be real with her, and her dad's betrayal fuels her change into the person she is by lis 1. there's also some sad irony in how rachel couldn't bring herself to admit her own betrayal to chloe years later. and even if you lie to her who's to say she won’t find out the truth from frank anyway. i do wish the amber family drama wasn't so rushed.
