I beat the game. It's fucking dogshit. Locking gameplay behind a literal gacha system is bad game design, and your precious "le deep" element system was only put in place to make the blades you roll feel worth it

The gacha shit is only bad for the overworld skills.

The story is good only in the final chapter and even then there are parts it fucked up.

Xenoblade 2 probably has my favorite gameplay in the series(still a tie between it and 3) but its story feels tonally detached from the rest of the xeno games.

I'm not surprised. Xenoblade 2's combat is a massive pain in the ass and full of jingle keys mechanics. Xenoblade 1 is perfect in its simplicity and Xenoblade 3 refines and improves on everything from 1, 2 and X and trims the fat.
I think X's combat system is mechanically the worst but I'd still prefer to play it over 2.

Chapter 1. Combat gets good when you get mythra. If you dont like it at this point youre wasting your time. You have to put in mental effort to learn the combat. If you brainlessly auto attack things the whole game it will be brainless, boring, and take forever. If you make teams, level your skill trees, and use gifts it will be fun.
