It's called over-correcting, i grew up with the Dreamcast version and i still remember how much it sucked fucking up your save because you packed Claire with all the ammo to the fake-out final boss leaving Chris with nothing for the surprise second half of the game

What about all the complaints from people about the tyrant fight on the plane? Hell back when the game came out on DreamCast I remember fucking myself over in that fight a little bit cause I used up everything I had in an earlier encounter with the tyrant.

Every RE game does this. Typically after the first hour you're absolutely drowning in ammo. The only real exception to this I've encountered was RE8 on the hardest difficulty which was horribly fucking balanced and every basic werewolf would need you to empty your stores of ammo. I remember being really low on ammo most of the time until like halfway through the game.

idk about x but i played the dreamcast version recently and the game also gives you infinite ink ribbons too
