I just don't think Sonic characters look good in full blown high definition 3D and nothing you can do will make them look good

They're best as either cartoons and illustrations, pixel art, or low poly models
Making them too detailed always sucks and it doesn't matter if you wanna make em all smooth or hairy or model every quill or what, it just don't work and it cannot work because their designs revel in ambiguity and I wish our society didn't view cartoons and low poly designs as "lesser" than full blown as realistically modeled as possible animation

There is Sonic canon, nearly every Sonic media has internal canon and most of them share an external overarching canon, it's just disconnected and confused because it's written by different people
The way I see it there's hard canon- the characters, the lore aspects set in stone, things like the chaos emeralds and rings and all that- and then there's soft canon- specific backstory stuff
Some Sonic media is clearly an AU, like Unleashed and X, it's not strictly concrete Sonic lore, it's Sonic and the world of Sonic in a different kinda story, like a "what if things were this way instead?" situation, every new game/show/movie/comic is it's own tale about these characters and their world with some kinda change or hook that make it its own

But as a result it is jarring when characters call back to it like "Hey Sonic, remember when you did THING THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO COME BACK FROM in that one game THE BIG EPIC WORLDCHANGING EVENT THAT CANNOT BE LOGICALLY EXPLAINED IN THIS UNIVERSE? Yeah, it was really epic how you just did that and somehow it affects nothing but we still remember it"

I played pic rel very recently because it was free
I'm not usually the biggest fan of visual novels so it's probably understandable I didn't greatly enjoy that part, but I still played some VN's I enjoyed better just due to the choice variance which this doesn't have, you just click on things, talk to characters after you do, and the whole story is linear
What I was really after is the mystery aspect but the game doesn't let you make any conclusions yourself, it holds your hand the whole time, literally not allowing you to make the wrong assertion, you as the player don't really solve anything you just do what characters say and then the game tells you you figured it out

Only good part is the minigame, there's one singular minigame but it's tight and enjoyable for what it is
Really has nothing to do with mystery solving though

Play it if you wanna watch a story, look at some pretty nice fairly on model art and just experience more of the characters assuming you don't mind mediocre fan characterization

The official canon is that Blaze's Rush backstory is still canon and it was her first chronological appearance.
She just SOMEHOW ended up in Silver's future and never thought to mention she knows Sonic.
It's weird, but it does explain why she doesn't speak with anyone besides Silver in 06, sidesteps the issue of her already knowing the cast for the sake of the plot.

For what purpose?
As an energy source they're only really great when you got most or all of them and you'd only need the Chaos Emeralds for something truly massive.
Eggman can make robots just fine without them and Tails just has a plane and a few gadgets.
Sonic was left utterly drained even with one of these to channel chaos energy and Shadow can use 99% of his arsenal including teleportation just fine without any.

This is probably correct. The Biolizard can use Chaos Control without the emeralds using some "organ".

This is a lot of conjecture, but my other reason for this is that SA2 blatantly rips off of lore from Evangelion. The Evangelion Units are imperfect beings that become "perfect being" after gaining an S2 engine which is a naturally occuring organ in angels which gives them an unlimited energy source. Unit 4 exploded because it was using an artificial S2 engine. Shadow would explode without his limiters because he's an artificial Sonic.

The primary issue was *playing as* Sonic's shitty friends. The shooting and hunting levels in SA2 are complete ass. SA1 has fishing levels. Sonic Heroes has to be beaten 4 times and one of those is a collectathon despite the levels being linear corridors. Sonic Team instilled a Pavlovian disgust response to any character who is not a fast hedgehog, and then reinforced it by making Sonic Generations, maybe the best game in the series and one where you exclusively play as Sonic.

They're two different Blazes. There's no reason there can't be two, we're talking about parallel dimensions after all.

The original intent however, as far as I can tell, is that 06 Blaze is the 'original'. 06 specifically states that Iblis is entrusted to a royal soul, that's why Silver can't take it on at the end of his story. Blaze uses her fire powers to accept it anyways, but something seems to go wrong when she's sealed in another dimension. I'm guessing the plan was that she'd be effectively reborn as royalty in the Sol dimension.

I guess by making him more pacifistic and coming to terms with the fact that he's not the real Shadow and doesn't have to be. Bear with me, I'm spitballing here.
At first, he starts off as a mindless robot like the other clones. One day, Eggman sent the Shadow android to retrieve the Master Emerald from Angel Island. This android makes brief contact with the Master Emerald before Knuckles manages to knock him away and into the depths of the island. When the android came to, it became conscious and the hidden data of Shadow becomes it's own memories. Leaving the Island, it fully believes itself to be the real Shadow(up to maybe Post-Shadow05???), roaming around without a purpose until he encounters the real Shadow. Struggling with imposter syndrome while also mistaken as a enemy, he dukes it out with Shadow. However, Shadow overpowers him. Nearly on the verge of losing it's own life and driven by fear for the first time, it flees while being chased down by Omega. This experience changes the android completely.
Idk where I'm going with this but usually in my mind, he's a ally that helps Sonic and his friends in some situations and sometimes hangs out with them.
