Honestly? I don't know if I agree. I think Cory did wind up like Chris, but also clearly didn't in a lot of ways. What saved him was probably a combination of being a part of a group that hates on things competently regularly (even back then) and that he isn't quite as autistic as Chris is by nature. Cory can look at himself and say that he hates himself and that he hates his work, and Chris can't. And some people might argue that that isn't a good thing, it's all a matter of perspective. Also, seeing Chris and having to glance at that mirror definitely helped at least a little. The second time I met Cory I was in the PVCC going by a different name. There are a lot of people who strayed away from being Chris only because they got to see him up close.
