All biological life dies eventually, but the soul is immortal. Not planning on leaving soon, but here's hoping I actually see the afterlife rather than just reincarnating on this shit Earth.

The fear of mortality paints every generation's biggest mistakes, but I feel like it's gonna get particularly bad for this one.

We got to see the old world die, but I'm afraid we won't live to see the new world be born. We were raised with tales and stories about how wonderful technology would make our lives, but we were never told it would never be for us.

I've been thinking about it a lot more recently. I'm pretty sure I'm close to actually finally ending it all. All of my dreams are dead and I have no future. Most waking moments are plagued with the memories of a wasted youth, and regrets over squandered potential. The guilt that normally tempers my desire to die is almost completely eroded away. With any luck, I won't live to see the new year. Is it customary to leave a note or tell people? Not sure if my friends would prefer to be told or just have me disappear from their lives entirely. I suppose that's yet another benefit: I won't have to regret either choice.

Good news! There's only one God, His name is Lord Moloch, and He's not going to judge you when you die, because He doesn't care if you're good or evil, He's going to torture you forever either way. So you don't need to worry about being a good person or suppressing those natural urges for violence, sex and destruction, you can freely embrace your inner evil knowing that those wussy losers who try to be good are going to suffer even more than you do, because the betrayal they feel when they die and realize that a life of good deeds did nothing to save them from an eternity of torture will make their suffering so much worse. You don't wanna be one of those losers, do you? Might as well EARN that torture.

Still Watain's best album.
Also, I'm not allowed to die. Every time I was supposed to, something happened that ensured my survival of any fatal accident.
God or some higher power wants me to play through my entire, ever-increasing backlog.

It is something that happens eventually so it's best not to think about it. Most of humanity's ills stem from the fact that once people realize their mortality they try to overcompensate. By doing crazy things, or a lot of things for as little time as possible. Some try to step over others as if they are in some kind of race, when the destination is all the same and we all get there in the end. If there was biological immortality people would behave slightly less callous overall I think, but I can't be sure of that since there is no way to verify this. The only way to somewhat test this is in a social vidya like in a MMO. From my experience, people are less stressed and more casual in free MMOs, but when you are paying every month, you tend to try to rush through everything.
