What the actual FUCK went so terribly wrong here? How did they get away with releasing a non RPG with only one choice at the end, that's not even cyberpunk or explore any cyberpunk themes (excluding the Peralez quest) without anyone calling them out on it? How did they do it?

Fun fact: nobody cares about choices in video games! Everybody looks up the optimal result and chooses that. It's much better to put dev time into more important things instead of a dozen choices when only one will be picked by most players!

GTA typically has side activities, a world that can be interacted with to some extent outside of side quests, strong NPC interaction, and responsive mechanics. CP2077 has none of the above.

I haven't really played much of GTA 4 and never played 5 but in my experience 2077 was quite similar to the first generation of 3D GTA games. They're the similar sort of shallow open world "toy" where you can fuck about and progress the story when you feel like it.

GTA is a slop series for niggers. Its only appeal is fucking around with cheat codes spawning weapons to shoot civilians, rack up a wanted level and get chased around by police. Its main stories are always just a basic bitch crime movie plot with a shitload of pointless busywork tacked on. They tried to shoehorned keanu reaves or keanu reaves insisted on shoehorned into the game. Either way, this caused inconsistency with lore and made the game more about keanu reaves than the players.
