I still almost never see anyone shooting other players in solos. Fuck, just earlier I was playing trios and did a great ambush, set up a trap and everything, and EVERYONE ELSE just decided not to have a fight. No one else fired a fucking shot and were just asking where a quest objective place was.
It's insane to me how passive the players are in this game (currently). I don't completely hate it or anything, but... damn.

Team fill works fine. You can try to lead them if you have something specific to do, or you can just tag along if they're doing something specific. As long as you don't put yourself in a position where you're relying on their competence (ie always have an escape vector if you can) it usually works out. There are enough tools for communication without speaking to make things work for your average autist too.

No because extraction games are inherently flawed. They're a condensed form of survival game that forces you into an arena with no survival mechanics, an invulnerable base of operations and different players.

If this game was open world and a survival game, there wouldn't be these problems. I can simply hide and run away, there's no world boundary that you know I'm stuck to, there's no exits you know I have to get to. Furthermore, you don't go out with your good stuff all the time, not just because you'll lose it but because it will be used directly against you and can be used to attack your stash. You can't piss enough people off that they decide to team up and attack your base because you're never facing the same people and because your base is a menu, it can't be raided.

Why would you leave someone alive? In an extraction game there's no benefit to it unless they're a friend you'll play with again. There's no forming good will or relationships with anyone. There's no familiarity of people, you don't make people want to help you or join you, you simply give your potential enemies a better chance. The odds of you fighting against them again are very low but theoretically it exists, there is more benefit to killing them than there is to not.

There's a whole series of bots which range from easy to extremely hard, anything above a wasp is tricky solo, a hornet is OK if you've got some cover. Snitches are OK as long as they don't get away and call in reinforcements. Leapers you wouldn't risk solo, nor would the rocket bots, the bombardier or queen. Gaining an ally by letting people live is quite powerful, the chance you can extract safely is much greater, if another team allies up and you attack one of them you end up with 2 shooting back. Most of the time in medium and high loot zones there's more good gear that 1 person could haul out in 10 trips, much less 1.

The "fun" from extraction shooters comes from balancing the risk-reward of the strength of your loadout vs. the potential of losing it all. Tarkov does this well, but in Arc Raiders the risk-reward dynamic is basically completely absent.

Replacing really good shit in Tarkov, with all the flea restrictions, is a bit harder for the average person. Losing an Osprey should feel like losing a Vudu scope on a DVL or something.

I think the pathfinding is incredibly good, especially for the flying units. Getting a bunch aggro'd on you at once feels pretty oppressive as you try to not die. They fly around building to find angles, smaller ones like Wasp will straight up fly inside buildings if the windows/roofs allow it. Rolling enemies go up stairs, the jumping leaper enemy all move really well especially considering the whole point is to take limbs/thrusters off and the AI move the best they can.

Rocketeers move around too much for other throwables, it really was just using 2 wolf packs and loot it.

The rest, which includes Bastion, I just use Anvil with 80 ammo, and 2 stacks of non-basic nades. Heavy fuze, blaze, and the sticky one are all good. Bastions only have one attack which is the gatling so you just come out when it stops shooting. Find some good building to start the fight from and peek shoot take cover when its about to shoot.

Mushrooms aren't hard but it feels way more scattered, I usually just wait for the lush bloom event and run around buried city for baskets.

Nah go in with a hatch key, then wait till the last 10-15m. There is only one escape left, and most people aren't going to poke their head out at you especially because they will prioritize escaping over stopping you. Meanwhile even if someone does fuck you over, you can still escape via hatch.

The most "boss" arcs I've killed in one run was a night trying to get the surveyor vaults. Killed 2 surveyors, a bombardier, and on the way out a leaper. Could definitely have saved nades from those surveyors and killed another leaper or maybe Bastion if my heavy ammo was fine. This is all before even getting a Hullbreaker which briefly using it does really fucking well against Arcs which is its whole thing
