This got me thinking about how I got into Fallout
For the life of me, I can't remember. I know it had something to do with loving Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind, but I don't know how I found out, or what I knew about it beforehand.
Almost worrying, but whatever.

I don't have any "kino" moment when playing videogames to be honest. I've had some irl though, most of them were back in the army. Some of them were so "kino" that I cried because it was beautiful.

my first game was FONV. i'd initially tried to play it on my jailbroken xbox 360 but for some reason i lost interest 1 hour in. many years later after playing oblivion and loving that game i bought FONV on steam on a whim. it's now one of my favourite games

Im a thirdie and I had no idea about anything. Started playing warcraft 3 and then the modern warfare campaign. Downloaded fallout 3 on a whim. Pure unadulterated kino of the highest order. It is a shame they were left in the dust and are like a generation behind their contemporaries- starfield sucked

>new game after years, so a new fanbase
>FPS so unique opportunity for the big reveal
>could have had the prologue first, a lot of build up to how the Vaults saved humanity and how after 200 years the Earth should have recovered and you're going to be a brave frontiersman in an unspoiled paradise
>the door opens and it's this mess
>then the introduction with Ron Perlman plays
But no. You go into the game from the intro expecting an ugly wasteland and then you see an ugly wasteland. Anything special about the moment was lost when Emil Pagilacci decided he needed to fit in some deep Bible quotes and make you Jesus.

fallout 4 didn't look "next gen" even in 2016. also we had seen footage to spoil us prior to that. i found about fallout 3 literally the day it got released and i sailed the high seas to play it.

20 years would be far more appropriate. Like you possibly still find edible canned food and working tech in that span of time and the effects of a nuclear war would still be lingering but after 200 years the world would basically have started over fresh.
