It's actually good, the maps are well designed and there's lots to loot and kill in them and the "haha funy ducks" streamer bait aspect fades into the background pretty quick once you start getting ripped to shreds by crows with assault rifles.

I was playing the game on Extreme and thought it was easy even though I still die and lose all my shit from time to time, then I got smoked by Vida and the Mine Chief in literally 0.3 seconds from full health at a reasonable distance.

not OP, but it's singleplayer? i haven't seen any gameplay footage, but i was under the impression it was like totally accurate battlegrounds where it's "haha funny goofy parody game (but it's basically just a reskin underneath the goofiness)"

Its singleplayer. Beyond the ducks and avian-centric enemy designs, I didn't encounter any "goofy" stuff at all. Fun game overall, worth a pirate at least.

For a game that's currently blowing up, it's kind of surprising that there's barely any threads of it on /v/, I wanted to talk about the game for the past week, but it's kind of hard since most of the discussions on the Steam forum are Chinese.
Anyway, the difficulty spike on some of the bosses and enemies are insane, especially if they're using assault rifles and have barely any down time between shots, so they can easily burst you down just like how you burst down regular enemies, not really sure how you're supposed to deal with them other than cheesing them by baiting them into fighting other enemies or shooting them after running out of their aggro range.

Yeah dealing with cunts like the flymen, the arcade, the Mine Manager or Misel can be hard as fuck and I don't really have a good strategy for them either. Even hardening injectors and aegis charms on top of the heaviest armor doesn't seem to be enough to counteract AP ammo and rockets and you don't really move or kill fast enough to kite them with BRs or snipers. At least you can usually grenade the flymen and the manager.

The game suggests using fire weapons like the boss shotgun against these storm niggers but when one rushes you down it's pretty much instant death because the space armor fucking sucks.

I turned the ability to pick up your gear after you die off and the game is much better now.

Feels like the game was balanced around lost gear on death unlike Zero Sievert so you shouldn't get too attached. I wish I activated lost gear on death before starting a save though, now I have to play on Extreme with a 1.5 enemy DMG multiplier

The space armor is a meme, just hold off until you have storm and space damage injectors and then you can just face tank their shots in your regular armor and magdump them with regular AR rounds.

When do you guys switch to running AP ammo for normal runs? I have two full stacks of AP ammo by now and I only use them when I'm going to lab.

Unless I'm going to the starter area for fishing or storm ghosts or whatever I'm always running at least AP ammo, it's trivial to restock and it basically doubles your damage against the average enemy which ends up saving you a ton of ammo and healing in the long run
