Just do dailies and upgrade until you can beat the next wall. Later you will unlock Synchro Device that will basically sync Lvls of your other Nikkes to 5 strongest ones. One advice though is you should save on the Core Dust cases/items. Lategame levels are all gated by heavy Core Dust cost. It will overall take some time. The campaign is designed to be a slow grind.
At the current stage it will probably take you 6-12 months to finish depending how good units you will get. You want Pilgrim units asap, specifically Modernia and Red Hood.
Don't play the Story Mode though. Maybe they will fix it later but it removes the cutscene stages from normal mode meaning you will get less Outpost Levels.

Realsitically when you spend money on a new Nikke, what are you even getting out of it? Another PNG to stare at? There's not even content in this game to do, everything "endgame" is just autobattle garbage. This game is nothing outside of it's story. Considering this game wasn't even based off an established IP like FGO I have no idea how it ever became so successful.

I actually thought that Golden Week was pretty good event, and they did do some cool stuff with TV mode in first three chapters, at least with presentation.
Hopping on the train Chapter 1, robots mashing through the Hollow in Chapter 2, and sneaking through Ballet Twins in Chapter 3... All of that was nice.
...And then the TV mode got axed, and stages fucking sucked until Anniversary. The new stuff is kinda fine, but I still think TV mode handled things better, since your mind filled in the gaps. Now you might talk to two NPCs during side quest, George and Bob, and you have no idea which one of them is talking in the because they are not fucking animated!
Compare that to Genshin which has unarguably worse models and textures, but at least the dev team is putting their assets to work. Characters are very animated, camera zooms in and out, sometimes pans... The World Quests do have some effort put into them.
Maybe I am weirdo for caring about this stuff, but ZZZ side quest and events are just so dull to go through at the moment.

I actually don't even think the L2D in Nikke is very good, it's kinda amatuer looking and janky. Brown Dust, Azur Lane, hell even Blue Archive (with it's Memorial Lobby's) has better L2D. Almost all the characters enter the standard pool so you can potentially get them. The only ones lost forever are collab characters.

Nikke is one of the rare modern gachas where characters are added to the general pool shortly after their banner ends. The only thing that don't get added are seasonal alts, which will be rerun, and collab characters which are lost forever.
My guess is you are referring to Noire, and yes you can get her from the general pool.

Very few things in the main story ties to Goddess Fall.
The major ones you want to "not be spoiled" is to do the side quest thing, which is just visual novel mode, and pilgrim centric events like Other Zone and Crown Kingdom.

Nikke L2D isn't meant to be interactive like other game, but its part of gameplay.
All those game you mentioned always have separate L2D sprite for gameplay moment, For example SD sprite for Azur Lane.
While in Nikke all of character L2D is part of gameplay. Even standby pose is used on the gameplay
