Superheroes are just too powerful to make actual games about. Either you're a street level guy with gadgets or you're "I can do everything" man and the fanbase pisses and shits themselves when your character takes damage because that's not comic accurate.

Yeah, I mean they could've at least used Superman or Martian Mahunter or someone whose powers would be more fun to explore.
On the Marvel end, I guess Rivals is alright, but I've been itching for an Arkham-style Daredevil game for a while.
I think EA is making an Iron Man game right now.

It's a fact that Spider-Man and Batman are the only superheroes with the potential to have good stories. But story is irrelevant, you should still be able to make some fun action combat out of superheroes like Wonder Woman or Iron Man. Maybe the lack of storytelling potential is just too much to justify making a game, in the eyes of devs and execs

From a casual perspective, yes. There are narratively superior stories/heroes than those 2, but there's also the fact that both Batman and Spider-Man lend themselves well to gameplay, unlike a Swamp Thing that, while well written, would be weird to have a game.

There are no DC games because the DC characters are stupidly overpowered.

To game play designers its impossible to imagine playing as the Flash, its impossible to balance a Superman or Wonder Woman game due to how powerful they are, how would you even conceivably program a Green Lantern game given creative imagination of constantly using shapes to solve problems.

DC and video games just do no work. And they deserve to miss out on all the fun, for being so tied down to the most unwieldy uncompromising characters they've relied upon for a century.
