Elden Ring has zero ganks.
The Godskin Duo is actually a good fight. The two Godskins compliment each other well.
The Valiant Gargoyles on the other hand are a bad duo fight.

I replayed every souls game in the past few months. It's been lots of fun.

DaS3 is the least enjoyable, getting stunlocked to death while in full armor by an emaciated hollow with a dagger isn't fun. DaS3 has way worse enemy ganks than DaS2.
The worst boss fight is Bed of Chaos from DaS1 despite DaS1 being pretty good in most places.

Yeah, the skinny one is fast and can close the gap well and the fat one is even faster and closes the gap even faster. The skinny one has moves that discourage crowding him and the fat one has moves that discourage crowding him. The skinny one has a projectile that can come out quick and deal good damage and the fat one has a projectile that can come out quick and deal good damage.

The difference is that normal enemies in DS3 are almost consistently a pathetic joke so people dont hate it as much. Far more secondaries liked DS3 over the others because its almost impossible to get offended by the normal areas in DS3 by any means except boredom because theyre so trivial. And thats pretty much the ACTUAL reason why people bitch more about ds2 and sotfs, they just got their shit kicked in because its the one game that keeps you always on your toes and encourages you to have a vast arsenal

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2 are the only games where I felt like the areas were harder than the boss fight. The boss fight was often a culmination of a level with the level not just being filler between boss fights. The thing that hurts DaS2 for most people is that you're not invisible walking through fogwalls, opening doors, or opening chests. That makes it so you actually have to beat enemies.

DS2 has a Celtic/Romano-British cultural theming supporting and adding flavor to the generic fantasy.
ER is a blend of High Medieval France with Celtic cultural influences with horitculture and alchemical theming.
For examples, Vendrick's kingdom and character like the emerald herald have Gaelic theming while all the knights in The Lands Between have their armor styled after French jousting armor.
