I went to Disney World and it felt like being in a big video game in the way you explore and find find attractions to ride.
It itched a childhood autism that I didn't realize I had.

Does anybody share this feeling?

Yeah, I think theme parks tend to be like that. They're built to offer something interesting around every corner to make efficient use of space, so it can give a sense of rewarding exploration similar to a videogame

Yes, along with everything else

Noticeably worse guest experience but the parks are overall the same.
They cut back on a lot of freebies and perks

Why do you think a subgenre of MMO is called a themepark?

not an amusement park, but I went to Isle of Skye earlier this year, and I really felt like I was in a video game open world because it was small enough to get to anywhere on the island within an hour and there was a huge variety of locations and points of interest to see. There were castles, cliffs, mountains, fascinating geological formations, all within close distance to each other. It was really cool.

The ideal open world should be the kind where, if you play the game more than once, you won't have been to the same places.
Is this possible in worlds handcrafted by level designers? Probably not.

It already kinda looks like a cool map for an open-world game.

There was a game that Disney shut down that acted as a virtual promotion to go to the Disney World. It was called Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK) I still have wonderful memories playing it as a child.

I always thought Disney World was split into five main regions, Kingdom, Animal, Epcot, Hollywood, and one other. Or was it always just four?

There's also a shopping district and a couple water parks. You're probably thinking of the former.

As a Universal Studios chad, good for you.
Though I always visited both places when I went to Orlando

Was that the film ride where the guide gets replaced halfway through by a gangster?

Universal has just as good rides, but it doesn't really capture that feeling of exploring an immersive world.

Fuck, I took the ride every single time I went to Hollywood Studios. That and Indiana Jones on stage.

Yes they are called Disney adults and are some of the worst people imaginable

Yeah almost a decade ago. Replaced by a Mickey Mouse ride that's pretty good in its own right, but not really comparable.

Indiana Jones is still there though, with no sign of ever going away
