You get scoffed at for everything. It’s insane how deeply unpleasant the board has become in the last few years. Even if you manage to converse with someone somebody will still interject and try to derail. There are no more on topic threads because even ones starting with good intention will rapidly spiral into shitflinging. The board simply isn’t usable compared to how it was a decade ago. Even five years it wasn’t quite as bad even if it wasn’t great.
There’s been an active attempt to rewrite history but it wasn’t always this way. I remember discussion threads that took place without devolving like they do today.

/v/ in general is afraid to be genuine and honest. There was just today/yesterday a thread where someone said he had a nice memory of playing against EVO champ online as the champ asked him for mu practice(anon got beat up duh), and anons started calling him loser and humiliation fetish etc.
It's strange. To me anonymity lets me be honest and talk about stuff I like without any shame. If I make a mistake, I apologize, and it's not like I can't just close the thread anyway.

Maybe I'm the strange one. I just feel so out of place on /v/ these days.

I've noticed that the longer I spend on here (particularly /v/) the more genuine and polite I've been both online and in real life. Could probably be a subconscious reaction to all of the negativity here, because I do spend a lot of my spare time on this board.
