Also, just as an aside but the VC3, VC4, VC1R and VR devs were busy making the new Digimon game for the past decade or so.

They simply had to make it so units can only act once a turn what were they thinking

I like that you can use them more than once.
What they should've done is remove the stupid 2/3 and 1/3 AP recovery and instead keep the leftover amount after ending a move.
That way you'd have incentive to use other units as well using the same one multiple times.

I watched the anime adaptation and they shoehorned an NTR subplot for no reason at all which soured my mood for the 4th game. I did play it eventually years later and enjoyed it to some degree

VC1 was such a good game but despite actually having better gameplay I absolutely hate VC4. It really is a reminder that story and characters are just as important in a game like this because man do I absolutely loathe everything about the story and characters of VC4. I don't think I've ever played a game where I hated every single character as much as I did in VC4.

It's funny because most of the school shit is optional and the second half of the main story has no school life in it aside from a short epilogue scene.
The bigger problem is that Avan never shows himself to be a competent leader and Zeri's the one who comes up with plans.

Everyone hates that anime, the only thing it did better was Isara and Faldio's deaths.
Weird cause the manga adaptation seemed far more faithful to the game, though I could only find some of it translated.

In hindsight, this shouldn't be a franchise. It was a mistake for the devs to use Gallians for four games straight.

Orders were a mistake desu. You should never be able to rely on just making a single unit immortal instead of strategizing your squad

NTA but ranks are tied to how much money/exp you get and the only way to get best ranks in VC1 is to abuse scouts + orders.
I suppose you can just grind skirmishes or maybe it's not needed since the AI is braindead anyway but it just further highlights how many problems these games have.
