Don't fix what's not broke. You also have to consider that the people playing BO7 aren't necessarily the same people who were playing MW1. New fans enter the series as others leave.

Battlefield has some pretty fuckin' glaring issues from what I've played of it but CoD will jam insanely rigid matchmaking algorithms and predatory micro-transactions into it and piss everybody off (again) (they will still buy it next year)

I remember the menu music was like something out of a horror movie which was cool but yeah it was pretty damn solid on the whole. I remember being pleasantly surprised at the game when it came out, everyone expected it to suck because of treyarch developing it.

Every game suggested "oh this game is boring" "bro this game isn't holding my attention" "bro why can't i have skins for my guns?" Never tried to learn or expand on them. Never branched out into anything else, it's just always smoke line ups and constantly buying a knife for csgo/2, running low on money because he wastes it on beer, then sells it again while complaining the whole time, fucking insufferable.

The now beloved BF4 had one of the shittiest launches of all time. BF6 is decent though. There's a bunch of large maps now on the Conquest playlist, the beta was unrepresentative of what the release would be. Probably the only game I've paid full retail for in the past few years and not felt ripped off.

I was skeptical they fucked up Battlefield, but it's clear in retrospect they were trying to bait COD players with meatgrinder maps. The actual game has 4 large maps and more coming, which is good enough for me. The map they just added for season 1 is massive. If you wait longer, I'm sure there'll be even more large maps.

I hate how they turned the series into MCU-esque story.
I miss playing in the perspective of normal military grunts, not spec ops operators with plot armors.

Feels pretty big as an infantry, if you're a jet player the game is probably a write off and not worth playing. I remember seeing jets overlying the whole mountain map in the beta in 5 seconds, kind of stupid they're even in the game

I played BF4 recently and, except for a couple SMGs, the guns shoot way worse in 6.

Despite being a literal casual shooter COD still has a "niche". There are really not that many generic 6v6 stoner fps games with like 8 populated game modes, everything has to be competitive nowadays. People just wanna hop on, click heads, and zone out.

I was interested in BO6 and followed the launch closely and I've never seen any official material saying anything like that. Every time I ask people where they got it from they never tell me so I'm forced to assume this wasn't ever officially said and just something people assumed Treyarch said. Not that that excuses Beavis and Butthead skins of course, just my observation.

I miss WW2 games.

Battlefield V is unironically my favourite Battlefield to play
