Why should anyone play a classic+ version of MS over modern MS?

The only thing I can see is the early-FOTM-nostalgia of playing PQs, as I don't think modern Maple has PQs. But unless they make PQs the absolute focus of Classic+ I don't think it has anything over modern Maple.

What would a classic+ MS have over modern MS?
A more PQ oriented culture?
MapleStory isn't like other MMOs with gathering, crafting, or life-skilling (unless they rework the crafting system because it was dogshit in the original pre-BB). It has a world, and everything is pretty much dropped.

Less classes, content, smaller world, more tight-knit and cozy sure, quests matter more for account progression. But overall I don't get it besides nostalgia. Let's say you do have your fun, you do Kerning PQ, Ludi PQ, whatever, hit lv120 third job, now what? Is MS going to be like a "horizontal" MMO where you then do other things to progress? Or will they just constantly increase the level cap over time like how people hate WoW-classic?

I have played a lot of old Maplestory and new Maplestory.
The one very obvious distinction between old and new is design philosophy.
Old Maplestory was designed around adventuring. New Maplestory is designed around min-maxing for autistic people.
In old Maplestory, the maps were a lot bigger and often had all kinds of hidden portals leading to secret areas. The developers intended for people to be curious and traverse the world, you know, like going on an adventure. In New Maplestory, all the maps subscribe to flat platform design, and are obviously constructed with optimal grinding and farming in mind. There is no adventure anymore.

After a certain amount of years with the old system, Nexon's playerbase transitioned from a more casual audience (2005) to more autistic (2009), and with that, there was increasing demand to satisfy the autistic demographics. Autists wanted faster travel, more optimized training maps, bigger numbers, more mobility, and this dictated the new direction of the game.

I quit soon after the big bang update but nostalgia got the better of me a couple years back and i reinstalled. It's literally mashing the next button while you level up to 30 for free.

People can mock me all they want for wanting grinding back but at least there was gameplay. I enjoyed having to navigate maps, control mobs, and use skills strategically, now it's all just jumping to every platform and spamming big attacks.

I knew a jew back in windia a long time ago who was in a really rich merchant jew guild, he told me maple was popular in israel because it was easy for them to learn how to manipulate both people to get lower prices and entire markets and there were israeli guilds that basically worked as merchant-mills, they'd take new jews in and train them on how to merch and run the FM then they'd send them off to start up in a newer server and lock the FM down as early as possible. This was also completed with tons of exploits and such too, to my knowledge, at least in the windia, zenith and chaos servers, they were basically paying dupers to churn out things like WS/Chaos scrolls and later a lot of the hacked gear that was floating around, then when the server was open for transfers the market would basically permanently die afterwards and become an RMT fest. Honestly quite amazing how much real money people made from this game

It was basically proto-legion, I also remember it being made so that newbs and casual players could have an easier time leveling up and experiencing the content at a faster pace but not too fast, the con was that the class was capped at 120. A lot of people ended up maining them because most people never even expected to get to 120, let alone get past it, and this was around the time when a lot of players would actually get to 4th job, get a few levels and never play the game after that, so it was a pretty reasonable idea to main a koc if you weren't a hardcore grinder since most people who did that assumed they'd never get to or past 120 anyway.

It's been a very long time but I believe most explorers wouldn't be stronger than an equally funded koc until around lv130? Cyngus Knights would be stronger by default because they'd get extra AP per level up until level 70. They'd get some gutted version of some 4th job skills, but they were still 4th job skills nontheless. Apparently chibi versions of gacha characters are incredibly popular around the internet nowadays, so when I see them I briefly have to ask myself if it's a modern maplestory character or not, I can't even tell the difference anymore. It's very odd how indistinct nu-maple is because the main appeal OG maple had to me was how unique and different it looked. Changing Lucky Seven like that destroys a core part of what made Assassin so good. The class rarely needed to take advantage of their full range. They were good at hit and run, and any kind of stationary ranged combat would usually make you stand midrange. Nerfing the assassin's attack range will not cripple them and will stop them from copying archers' gameplay style.
