See, that’s the thing. Any grinding, or need to go off the linear path at all, will be met with a score of -99999/10 from the modern casual JRPG gamer. But the asset reuse is more of a turn-off than that. I often see people say they refuse to play something over this.

They've done nothing but make side games and have been at the center of multiple censorship controversies with Nintendo and Sony, with Nintendo even refusing to release one of their games on the Switch recently.
Even Sisters was updated after launch to censor some bad no no words which is baffling for any game on the market period, but I guess Nintendo is becoming the new Sony in some regards.
Looking back on it, they haven't released a good game without any major problems in a decade and the series is about ready to die for good if they don't make a good mainline (Which they won't)
