You're hesistant because of the hype like me. I bought it shortly after release and just let it sit on my desktop until I just decided to boot it up at midnight earlier this week. I played the first 8 hours in one sitting which I don't think I've done since pokemon platinum as a kid, it's extremely gripping, genre-defining ultraludo. I know I haven't gotten far in it but I could see it being the best game post-PS2 era.
