I never understood Carlos' character. Even the other new characters, despite being awful, still had some purpose to the story: the psycho woman was referenced in the second game, the retarded guy was there to save her, the robot kid had some philosophical meaning in the end IIRC, but Carlos had no fucking purpose, he was just a random nice guy as far as I remember.

Did you not play the games? She did all that in order to stop Brother who would kill millions, but Brother was actually Sigma and Diana's son and a good guy, and he did all that in order to stop someone else from killing billions.
