Armored Core
Was anyone disappointed by the 3rd route of AC6?
I like the concept of Demon Iguazu being the final boss, but aside from that, it seems to disconnected from the rest of the plot that it almost feels like fanfic.
Snail was by far the better villain.

nope, it was a great game from start to finish with some of the best moments in the series ever
the only thing that kind of spoiled it was the overpowered shotguns trivializing many of the bosses for some people

It felt that way for me as well. Then again, I also felt like the third route had more fights I found more annoying than difficult, so that probably made me not like it as much as the first two.

It was my first Armored Core as a long time Dark Souls player, and I thought it was just following the continuous trend of Fromsoft emphasizing cinematic action bossfight, most of those fights themselves being centered around a stagger meter. The rest of the nonboss content is insubstantial, and is mostly just short linear levels to a boss.. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but I was under the impression Armored Core was about carefully navigating a missions board with branching paths and you had to change your AC for each mission. There was also a lack of that famous Armored Core music I knew more about than the actual games themselves.

I beat it once but I haven't felt compelled to return to it since.

for some people (me) it was frankly the only way to have fun
like fuck. i actually fought that Balt wheel thing normally and it was pretty difficult.

It had the best level of speed of any from game I've played. Maybe Sekiro was better. Either way fun stuff

Branching paths only really meant anything in a handful of games. Sometimes there's a couple missions exclusive to each corporation, but you also frequently only get one ending anyway.

Many of the older AC missions were very short gimmick levels where you have to do a specific challenge and frankly a lot of them fucking sucked. Old AC loved to throw you in pitch black mazes or jumping between pillars or fighting hovering enemies over lava, the missions might be only a few minutes long and it took longer to buy and swap out your legs than it did to even complete them.

These were mostly pivoted away from with 4 and the later HD games where they just threw more straight up fights at you anyway. Most of the things people complain about 6 over were already being tried out in those ones.

the music in rubicon is unironically the worst in the fucking franchise
game is fine but I dunno how they screwed up that part so badly.

Arena really needs those Bosses it really does. Not even asking for Double Bosses or a Boss Rush, just the Bosses being available to fight without going through the levels.

>Disappointed
That was probably the coolest route of the game, because it felt like you were basically breaking the time line with Iguana being the karmatic retribution for your transgressions.

Iguazu fight feels somewhat Ypsilon inspired.
