2 is just my fave. 3 has cool pyramid levels and boss fights. 1 is a bit frustrating and without slide, Crash feels stiff. It has the shitty save system and 100%ing is unfun so it gets last place but Its still great and awesome 3D vidya history.

4 was gay. It was retardedly bloated. The plot/characters/humor were cringe. I wanted a Crash4 for most of my life, but in monkey paw fashion, I got millenial indian devs who don't understand the series at all, parading around in a Bandicoot skinsuit

CTR is one of the best games I have ever played by the way. Fucking excellent kart game even singleplayer.

3 just didn't quite hit the same mark that 2 did but was still an enjoyable game. powerups felt unnecessary and the level hub just wasn't as cool as 2's

Reminder that people got burnt on relics being shoved into Crash 1 and 2 despite the levels not being designed in a way that makes that feel good to play.
Also genuinely, letting people just go right to fucking stormy ascent from the get go was a mistake, the level was removed for not being fun, and as neat of a "bonus feature" it is for the trilogy letting people run right into it is a great way to get people to drop the game even beyond how rough Crash 1 can be to play.

Like Donkey Kong Country, I prefer the first one even though the other games has improvements. There is something about the bare bones platforming that I enjoy over adding a bunch of extra moves that are mostly for specific situations.

i liked the relics in 1 and 2. fun stuff.
stormy ascend only the last bits before finishline bouncing on birds and shit is annoying to time trial.

You like reward less objectives? Speed running mentality is indisputably autistic.
Anonymous No.724850869 [Report]
>>724850614
what do you mean rewardless? do you need like 10 "gacha" boxes for every single thing you do in the game to get your opium levels up?
you know some people get their reward for just having fun playing the game and overcoming obstacles put there by the game developers

N.Sane Trilogy is just worse
I don't know anybody that got into Crash through them, they filter people away from the series because they're visually messy/unclear. Theyre harder in an unfun way because the collision is weird and rounded.
the characters and voices are less charming, less gritty. Like others have said, the remake trilogy dumps excess Crash1 on newcomers (in the form of relics and kaizo levels) which is a terrible idea. 3 is easier than 2 which is easier than 1.

all of this to say, anyone reading this, you're much better off enjoying the classics. Avoid Activision slop. (Beenox did a really good job with CTR:NF tho)

>100%ing is unfun
idk about that, 1 is the only one that I've consistently completed 100% on replays while with 2 and 3 I've hardly ever bothered.
But otherwise yeah, playing all of them back to back it's hard to deny that 2 is the best one

It seems like you never did the plat relics challenge, getting 100% in-game is easy

Controls great, looks great, amazing usic and atmosphere, little challenge in certain parts but mostly a pretty easy and relaxing experience.
>1
Controls work well within game's framework, it looks pretty good, has the widest variety of levels and music and feels like a well-made game with 16-bit era senisibilities (and that's not a bad thing, mind you). Not hard but just good enough for a challenging and fun run.
>3
Still fun, still gorgeous and music is as memorable as before. Minigames may be tiresome but they are well-made if you compare them with some other platformers of that time that veered into gimmicks as well.
>4
Tiresome overly long levels, annoying box placements, unnecessary gameplay additions like grind rails and rope swinging, very weird visual design that looks more like an ugly Illumination cartoon than anything Crash. Music is hit or miss (with "hit" being tracks that allude to the original trilogy soundtrack, like one in an ice level with rage-inducing Polar chase at the end).

2 > 3 > 1 >>> 4

The first 3 games are great. 3 was just a slightly lesser version of 2. 1 has a lot of those early 3D platformer design flaws, but is still a solid game.

But 4 is a failure on all fronts. It’s like they took the worst parts of the first three games and rolled them into one big pile of shit. Crash had so much momentum after NST and CTR: NF, and I will never stop hating TfB and Activision for completely killing that off.
