There's not much to say, it's that simple.
The Switch 2, like the PS5, is part of this new PC-like logic, where the new console is just a way to continue using the same library of past games, but now with the benefits of more advanced (and more expensive) technology.
Remember when the PS5 was in the middle of its generation and people said, "Wow, it doesn't even feel like it's started", it's going to be the same with the Switch 2.
With PCs, there's no such thing as generations, you don't say "we're in the middle of the RTX4080 generation or something like that", and the same thing is going to happen with consoles from now on.

I don't know how this is possible unless you're paying subscriptions on various other things or spend money elsewhere (like nights out, etc.). They took the time to go back and ensure compatibility with better textures and various upgrades, I think they've been fair with the exception of the Zelda ones so far since those do not come with the DLC, either.
Also Pokemon Scarlet's and a few other ones were free, presumably as a proof of concept. Other ones that aren't free typically are more than just the upscaling.

They could have put up Kirby Air Riders for $1000 + one of my testicles and I would have bought it, that's such a subjective point that if you want to look at it objectively in terms of first party exclusives instead you have no recourse. I plan on getting the amiibo too.
And for some people, the upgrade packs also double as just outright getting new games by virtue of not playing the old ones but getting enticed by the new content and upgrades. I borrowed my sister's copy of Kirby and the Forgotten Land but never actually played it until the upgrade pack came out and I think that was the right call since I played the entire game with 60 FPS.

Spigen Switch 2 case is $10 and does a good job of spiffing up the look of your console with the joycon covers, adds a very nice accent cover that's the same as the connection rail sticker and the analog stick guard

Case is "dockable," fits in the dock but has friction with it, Switch 2's dock tolerances in general seem so tight that we're not going to ever get truly seamless dockable cases without them being completely razor thin

Note that a joycon cover of any kind means it won't fit into the controller grip or charging grip, so keeping it on all the time means you're gonna be a sicko who plays with joycons separate. The covers have weak glue strips on the inside to keep the joycons totally in place, they're not completely friction-fit

I'm not against emulation. The distaste people have for modern emulator devs and the people who can't shut up about modern emulation is that they're a lightning rod. No one is complaining about Dolphin, or even complaining about them when there was overlap between Dolphin's development and the time that the Wii was still being sold in retail. BotW doesn't involve crafting. You cook meals for buffs and can trade gems for royal weapons but that's the extent of it. TotK also isn't really in line with Terraria since everything you build is temporary and you aren't making any changes to the landscape. Sticking things together to make vehicles and stuff like that felt more in line with an engineering game like Space Engineers. Terraria is more like Minecraft and other builders even if it sits in its own bubble of the genre.

What about your own personal living abode? While we're at it, what about Tarrey town from BOTW? They're essentially stripped down versions of what you can do in Terraria, and I say stripped down because there's far less customization involved, and Tarrey Town is more like a sidequest, although it's technically still you building a town. Terraria just elaborates on the concept in a far more freeform manner.

You can technically play the whole game without building your own shelter. The only thing you miss out on is NPCs, and most are optional. Even the guide is just there to be a summon for the wall of flesh. If you're desperate, you can just slap some walls or a torch onto already built houses.

the point is that both games are about allowing you a freeform approach to how you explore the world, though Terraria handles it better.
