The literal only thing even slightly redeemable about their gameplay-threadbare game design philosophy is the notion of making different choices to explore different outcomes.
And they lie about it, on every release.
They pulled that shit so much that people realized the mystery box would always be empty, lost interest, and the company went under.
And now they're back and they immediately, without missing a beat, doing the same shit again.
