The game STILL has not recovered from all the fuck-ups the movement update introduced. Same goes for most other updates, but that's the one that stuck with me as I found the game genuinely well made before that.

There is just so many times in the game where it's just better to skip something than to engage with the dev intended way of playing, for example there are so many arenas that are not gatekept where it's just better to leave asap without fighting at all. It's where the core gameplay is at its strongest by far, although I agree there's perhaps a bit too many of them. It does drag on. The City of Lights introduces no new enemy type, Orca Avenue introduces 3, the Slights again have no new enemy type. Given all you do in Rottenlake is shoot enemies, most of them Frorc reskins, and occasionally glide, that's not nearly enough.
Just make the Harbor smaller, make the city area at the end the City of Lights, remove the accountant objective and have Orca Avenue lead directly to the exhibit. You don't need the 4th Daisy fight. (Or it could replace that terrible Pinstripe lookalike.)
If you HAVE to load the City of Lights separately (it is the best looking level in the game after all), at least get rid of the Slights, no reason whatsoever for them to exist.
