The lore, story, art direction, character/monster design, musical score and npc quest lines were the best of any FROM game. They peaked with bloodborne. Elden ring might have better battle mechanics and faster gameplay but bloodborne will always be the best

As a late millennial, I never liked it and thought it was the worst game that year. Rocket League and The Witcher 3 were far better even Undertale offered more.

It is simply the best Lovecraft inspired cosmic horror game ever released. The fact that its a souls game is just an added bonus. You can feel the passion put into the game. Its also Miyazaki's favorite. Much to the chagrin of DS3 truthers.

It's a fun game. It's much, much more oriented toward parrying (like bloodborne was compared to normal souls) and has the same extreme learning curve at the start, but at the same time it takes DS2s idea of focussing on positioning and careful enemy management and does it in a substantially more thoughtful way. Art and music are quite good too.
It's a perfectly decent game, better than "meh" but a little uneven so not quite "great". Worth the time it takes to play it, unlike most souls knockoffs.
