>Wanna play some Nintendo? You and me?
I remember it was Tony's son saying that in this scene and Tony saying something like:
>What the fuck? Why do you want to play video games.
So iirc he does not play Nintendo.

With his son. On his son's system. A system his son has been shown enjoying. You pick this and not something like NICS (or L&O, I forget which) where someone has the "high score" in a fucking MMO?

I'm not familiar with this scene in particular but an old boomer referring to all games as "Nintendo" was a very real thing.

There was a large portion of time where pretty much everyone's mom just called every game console a "Nintendo". Didn't matter if you were playing an Xbox, or a Dreamcast, or even a Nokia N-Gage their frame of reference was that every video game device was a "Nintendo".

Dumbass zoomers, back in the late 90s/ early 2000s Nintendo dominated the entire market and it was more common to hear about it everywhere. That changed with the PS2.

Nintendo did eventually win out but for a time in the 90s we what people called a "console war" between Nintendo and SEGA. Pic-related lolcows like Moviebob considered it "my own private Vietnam".

Nah, everybody fucking knew Mario and Nintendo and they didn't considered Sega too much since videogames were also so fucking expensive back then, many families just went for the famous console like NES and SNES. Sega was ALWAYS the second place and quite irrelevant, even Sonic was "that character" you knew it but never played the games, he then became an absolute joke with all his shit games. Using also a LOT of batteries for your handheld killed a lot of Sega's potential.

I think so with that blatant flashback to his talk with Bobby, but also that it doesn't matter if he died there. His crew was in shambles and losing faith in him, New York was still going to rile up again even without Phil, and his family life was going to shit more and more. It was gonna be over one way or another.

Your zoomer is showing.
My boomer parents called all video games “Nintendo”/“the Nintendo” whether it was an N64, a PS2 or even a PC game. They use it like people called tissues “Kleenex” or cotton swabs “q tips”.

That was certainly my impression when I watched it for the first time recently plus the inevitability of the FBI getting him. Then I read about the reception to the final episode and there's all kinds of theories, main one being that the story just continues but we don't get to see it much like how we were dropped in at the start of an ongoing story.

it's a weak excuse to perpetuate "board culture", and that board culture is actually /tv/ but nobody gives a shit because any semblance of self-moderating when actual moderation failed is a fucking joke.

Yeah it's not like they draw direct lines from Tony to AJ like five hundred thousand times throughout the show explaining that Tony is the same retard he sees in his son, literally outright mentioning it at one point.

Neither, he had issues with drinking and drugs but more due to wanting to fit in with his rich "friends." He hits rock bottom and tries to kill himself and gets a bit better after being tossed in the looney bin and reconnecting with an old classmate. He seems to be on the rebound after accidentally setting his car on fire and less obsessed with bleak shit, but he's probably going to relapse back into depression like his old man soon enough.

Yes, but as >>724904616 said, it doesn't really matter. Tony as we knew him was finished. It's strongly implied he was about to be indicted since he told Carmela about Carlo testifying. If he isn't killed in the diner, he's certainly going to prison for life

Yes, even before the confirmation there were tons of hints.
Earlier that season Bobby said he thinks that you wouldn't hear the gunshot that kills you, everything would just go black. The killer came at Tony from his 3 o'clock, which relates to a warning a dead gangster told him from Hell. Meadow, who was Tony's guardian angel, wasn't there. The killing replicates Michael Corleone's first murder in The Godfather which Tony said was his favourite scene.
