Was born in 02 and it was great. Although I watched cartoons more than I played games. 2004 - 2013 CN was the best a kid could ask for.

Well for one, I wouldn’t say social media is the problem like some people say.
Where I grew up, smartphones and most social media apps (insta, snapchat, twitter) weren't really mainstream until 2015ish and noticeable decline in prosperity and general quality of life began to metastasize years before smartphones were on anyone's mind.
While I agree, widespread social media addiction and dependency has become an issue for a lot of people, I feel like the troubles that the west has been facing for the past 30ish years had been going full steam ahead regardless. In a world without smartphones and social media, things would still be shit. Long story short, 9/11 and the GWOT is where it all began to go wrong. Things were still pretty good enough in the late 2000s and early 2010s for anyone to notice the decline. Personally, I still think the future will be pretty cool. The past 3 years have actually un-blackpilled me and the late 2010s were honestly worse than what the 2020s are shaping up to be. I welcome the continued technological advancement and the benefits it will bring to the world. (I'm not talking about silicon valley fluff. I mean like medicine, prosthetics, virtual reality, driving assistance, space travel, etc.)
I do have hope that things will get better.
