Super Castlevania IV
>Only 11 stages
>Only 1 character
>Piss easy
>Some bosses do so little damage you can just keep attacking without dodging and just take the hits, you'll still win
>Overpowered whip makes sub-weapons useless
>No subtitle, they just added "Super" because it's on the SNES
>Not even a new story, it's just a retelling of Castlevania I

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
>15 stages
>4 characters
>One of the hardest game on the NES, a system reputed for hard games
>Bosses do insane damage, you HAVE to learn their patterns to win
>Every sub-weapons is useful
>"Dracula's Curse", cool subtitle
>Prequel where you play as Simon's ancestor

Holy shit if I'd bought CV4 in 1991 thinking I'd get something as good as CV3 I would've been pissed.

I like both. I've never cared that much for the other characters in III. I stick with Trevor the entire time, with the exception being using Alucard to make some of that path's shittier moments less grating.

That's how I play the game as well. I use Alucards bat form for the one screen where blocks are falling and it takes several minutes to make a tower high enough for you to reach the stairs, hate that shit. And the part near the end of the game where it's a super difficult water path with fishmen and crows all over the place.
