Nah, he's evil, he shoots your best friend with a fucking gun, and then dies and makes all the 40 year women that the play the game so wet they have to bring him back when you back in time as someone that helps you, but he forgot you were there in past because of a memory wipe and in the end I guess he was a good guy in a way.

He's genuinely better than 80% of ALL FF villains at the very least. Easily a top 5 contender from that IP.

But in ALL video games? He could probably barely scratch top 50. He just isn't nearly iconic as some of the industry's big bads over the decades.

I never played Endwalker, so I don't know what they did with him there, but I thought he was 10/10 all the way through Shadowbringers. One of my favorite ever vidya characters.

Also I ended up playing FF3 a few years later, and it's straight up a Shadowbringers prequel it turns out, so that was cool. Felt like I got to explore more of my favorite part of an MMO.
