yeah sure it was highly influential in the sense of games all now having only 4 hours of content then endless slop filler just like BotW, but i don't think that's been a good thing.
just saying.

Try everything. This game is a juggernaut of immaculate game design. Most games have to play mother may I figuring out the single way a developer intended you to progress. Zelda Botw instead asks in what way could you not progress, just try it.
>all botw clones were terrible and flopped
This is crazy to me. The only game with botw climbing that did well was palworld, and the climbing was not the reason why it succeeded

one person on the couch to offer suggestions, one person on controller, switch every shrine or two is the optimal zelda experience

I didn't care for it much either. The world is empty and full of copy/pasted enemy camps and the same few puzzles. The enemy variety and weapon durability were the 2 greatest weaknesses, especially recycling boss fights so many times. The dungeons were awful and the shrines were fine but many were throwaway ones and the rewards were often pretty lackluster which is one of the main reasons I disliked the weapon durability system, disposable weapons made the rewards feel disappointing.

this is how i played LA and OoT in the 90s, and BotW in 2019/2020
and these were some of my finest vidya experiences and bonding moments with a friend or brother
zeldas are meant to be played with another person
