Nah, hollow knight was my favorite game for some solid 5 years, but man, it has a shit ton of shortcomings thanks to the low dev time, the low budget and the unhealthy crunch during it's development.
Silksong is so much better, a bigger, more complex designed world, more build variety, the mainline bosses are really well done (the optional are kinda 50/50) the music is far more interesting, the visuals are more detailed, the world building is more interesting and just moving is so much smooth.
I do think Silksong is inferior when it comes to the antagonists, Lace/GMS/Conductors are not even close to HK/Pale King/Radiance

Silksong is an overly stretched, boring abomination. It's bigger, yet it has fewer meaningful upgrades and relegates too many of them to vendors instead of exploration. It technically has more moveset variety, yet Knight had a bigger, more fleshed out moveset always available to him. Its music doesn't even nearly approaches HK, i literally can't name a single composition merely 2 months later. Citadel is incredibly bland compared to City of Tears. Their boss design didn't advance at all, their hitboxes and erratic movement is still far more dangerous than the actual moveset. Complete disappointment.

It's fine, I haven't played Prime 4 so I can't really compare them. The one track we have from that Prime 4 trailer is already better than every track in both Hollow Knight and Silksong though so it hasn't surpassed the soundtrack

Like I said, I see more examples of people complaining that it's overrated than examples of people actually overrating it. Shitposters wouldn't need to waste their time shitting on it if the game were actually bad. But "X is overrated" is pretty empty as far as critiques go. Disagree. I feel like HK had a lot more "dodge the hitboxes, then wait for an opening to counter" style bosses than Silksong had, and the boss fights in Silksong felt a lot better because the tools and abilities the game gives you allow the player to be a lot more aggressive in fights than the Knight could.
I agree about the music, though, even if Silksong has its standouts.

i don't really know if this is technically true or not but until you provide a reason for why it matters, it's not important. personally, i tihnk hornet's moveset is not only more enjoyable to actually use, but it's just better suited both combat encounters and general exploration. take the charged dash thing in HK for example, it was limited for exploration since, for the most part, you wouldn't want to use it on the ground while going through areas, and you never really would use it for combat, it was relegated primarily to the areas you needed to use it to get somewhere. where as the needle-throw thing in SS is not only a good tool for opening up exploration, not even just for the areas that need it but for using enemies in previous areas to make navigation easier, it's also an amazing closer and resets your double jump and opens up an entirely new style of combat to you.
