A real discussion would go over how she has an arguably distinctive look like most celebrities so she is recognizable and that detracts from the character she plays.
The same phenomena happens in film wherein they don't want a specific part to be overshadowed by the actor themselves. Add in a tonal divide with her past work being strictly comedy and if you recognize her from the beginning like the premise surmises you recognize her as the funny lady. These considerations do contextualize the roles she has in a meta sense.

But it doesn't matter because she's cool. Her roles have been pretty cool so far. Even afro lady meme was fun.
