I heartily disagree. Though I had a fun time with KCD2 and felt it was worth a playthrough, there is no denying that it was far more linear, leaving very little leeway for the player to play the way they wanted. And as the other poster responded there was obviously the woke shit that was shoved into the game. But even forgetting all that, the mechanics of the game were further dumbed down. Instead of 6 directions, we were limited to four. Master strikes can now ONLY be used with swords, completely obviating any other weapon. Altogether it's a major disappointment. I don't think the inevitable third game will be remotely enjoyable if they are going to keep this downslide going

I recognise it's cool to have that niche but it gets in the way of roleplaying a little. You naturally play as a skeptic because it's set in the real world. When Henry falls into a mine that stinks of brimstone with an insane knight I immediately think "oh, it's a crazy man in a smelly cave". The game explicitly rejecting supernatural aspects separates me from Henry who would believe in such things.
