Yeah, it is primarily gameplay focused series. And weird thing is that they regularly change the gameplay.
First two games are basically text adventures, with some light combat.
3 and 4 and JRPGs, with grid-based combat. They are okay.
5 is weird RNG game. Events are decided with roulette wheel, and in combat moves you use are decided with dice rolls. It is weirder than it sounds.
6 (pictured here( is actually really good first-person dungeon crawler, with tons of different maps, and large cast of characters.
7 is a grand strategy game, and insanely good. It's really worth playing.
8 is... kinda strange game. The game is split into several small bite-sized quests, with there occasionally being choices in them, which result in different quests being unlocked. Much of the game is just Rance dicking around the continent, but it's fanservice where we see cast of the series.
9 is a tactical RPG.
10 is weird, but good.
