Did you know?
http://comcept.co.jp/en/

Comcept's website is still active, but it's frozen with the last update in 2016. How many years more do you think it's gonna last?

Doesn't really matter, does it? Comcept got absorbed into Level-5 so it's not around anymore, and Inafune left before Fantasy Life i released.

it doesn't matter, but it shows yet more poor planning and management. Comcept literally doesn't exist, yet the website is still live like nothing happened advertizing a company that doesn't exist anymore. He likely signed a 20 year contract to host the site, and then never cancelled it.

Website domains and server fees are usually on an annual billing plan, so it's more fire-and-forget if automatic renewal is enabled. Might not even cost more than a handful bucks a year, so it's not as big of a deal as you think it is, seeing how many people regularly forget to cancel subscriptions.

He was at Level-5, but left sometime summer 2024 or so. He hasn't made much noise since.

He was making the rounds at Tokyo Game Show 2025, and is working for Rocket Studios now.

Rocket Studios are made up of former Konami devs, and they handle some modern Konami games and ports. If you want Inafune updates, you need to do searches in Japanese social media.

Yes, that's probably what happened, but if you're running a well oiled machine you are probably going to ensure that the website of your defunct company is taken off line at the very least to not confuse people.

>How does he con?

By leveridging his career at Capcom and making himself sound more important than he really is. "The Father of Mega Man".

It's very possible that whoever maintained the website left long ago, and the relevant people forgot to take it down. So, the annual fees are just some random bullet point or two in bookkeeping reports.

Correct, which makes me wonder who is paying the bills? Comcept literally does not exist at all. There is a possibility that it got bundled into L5's expenses when they merged, and no one questeioned it since it'd be buried under mounds of other information.

However, I think it's more likely that he just paid a 10 year contract and then never thought about taking it down.
