I can understand they're pointless, yes. As in there's no point in them being released before the actual content they're cribbing from. And now 1.0 is out, and it's unfinished. Pretty easy to identify them as a possible cause, yeah?
Incidentally, most of the assets I was able to recognize (haven't played all of those maps)- the mall, the waterpark, the skate park- are integrated horribly. The mall's empty, the waterpark can just be skipped, the skate park's empty (the latter I suppose will be filled in later, but I'm not expecting much considering the rest of Corpopolis).
The castle is OK I suppose, although the geometry likes to disappear if you look at it wrong, the parts that are bolted on top suck ass (the gears!) and one of the wings is currently empty (missing Nightmare entrance maybe?)

Fair, I played the zombie school one a whole lot, it's well made. Still a lot of time that could have gone towards finishing the main game, or just polishing it.
