I'm done with this overrated pile of shit. I'm tired of the game requiring some of worst most cheap tactics just to progress. The game is such a repetitive slog of kiting and back walking and shooting. Even worse the fans have zero idea what they're talking about when it comes to strategies or builds. I'm really tired of the boring trashy combat

One of my favorite games of all times, though i like MM4+5 World of Xeen more.

The game is easy once you learn its basically a FPS and give bows to everyone and learn some gimmic spells use and buffs (including need to teleport around to get buffs from wells)

I always hated how the Might and Magic games shoved SciFi into their Fantasy worlds.

I always thought it was the lamest thing when fantasy settings would do that, and I still think that to this day. Thankfully we're not all running on Star Wars fever anymore so it's a bit more rare outside of "This fantasy world used to be high tech!" Type twists.

Its a Wizardy thing - Wizardy spawned the whole genre really, and MnM had it well integrated.

SciFi is integral part of MnM rpgs, sadly the Heroes series played it down drastically.

what joke you retard? Tomb of Varn is a vital lore drop and one of the most memorable dungeons in the game, and the oracle being an AI is pretty much the single most important part of the story of the entire game - you explore the world and help people in the beginning only to meet the oracle, and then spend the rest of the game getting the AI cores for it.

If you play the game "as intended", it's a bit of a slog, because enemies hit really hard and your party just sucks until way later.
And that's why alot of people "abuse" the early game portals hidden in the starting town, get op and just breeze through the first couple hours of the game.
You should have done the same desu.

Well I'm finally making progress again so it's gotten better and I'm not so pissed now. I just hate hitting difficulty walls mid dungeon plus I have no idea how to really build my party. Do we get plenty of skill points? Like enough to focus on a couple skills or do we have to really specialize? Can I focus on two magic schools for example to mastery? I loaded an old end game save to check, pic rel is my character sheet, spoilered in case you don't want to know exactly how much you get to level up normally.
But tl;dr yes, you'll be able to master multiple schools fairly easily, though it might be a good idea to still focus more on one or two max, since spells still scale with your skill level even beyond just getting "master". But also leveling up one thing means it will get extremely expensive eventually, which is why maybe it's fine to do multiple schools.

you can get several skills to 20+, because maps reset (repopulate) every 6-12 months, so you never run out of things to kill, there is a hard cap for character level, but it's like level 200 or 255 so you realistically won't reach it, and there's a hard cap for skill level, which is like 50 which is already massive overkill

You get quite alot of skill points, don't worry if your stuff is sub optimal or you wasted a few levels here and there in the long run.
Just get Water Mastery (level 12) asap, loyds beacon makes the game alot easier.
Air mastery is also neat.
Later in the game you should focus on Light and dark magic, get Light magic mastery first because you need a saintly reputation for mastery, after you got that one tank your reputation by killing NPCs and get dark mastery, don't try to do it the other way around, getting your reputation up is hard.
But until then just focus on stuff like sword, bow, disarm trap and armor and elemental magic.
Meditate, learning and body building are also quite useful.
Don't worry, the game is based around doing cheesy stuff whenever things get hard.

My one issue with it is how blasters just outdamage whatever other method of damage you have equipped so you spend all early game leveling your dark magic and sword, getting the best skill boosting gear and all for what? Getting a blaster with 0 delay in the late game and outdoing your dps at skill level 1. It's the ultimate and final cuck if you think about it logically.

Early on : travel to every village using the caravan, and grab all the horseshoes in all the stables to be dripping in skill points.
Later on, there's a fountain around the Minotaur fortress that gives your party +1 level for money, with increasing cost. But you can easily get billions of gold, and literally spam that fountain for 10 minutes and end up lvl 1000+.

Btw the max level is 32767, after that the game says fuck it and goes to -32768, setting you back to 1 HP and 0 MP.

After 50 years you start losing HP/STR but start gaining INT/PER. So it's cool for wizards. After 100 you start losing it.
But it doesn't matter, because there are potions and a fountain of youth that will restore you to your normal age (ie you still age by gametime but that's negligeable, and it removes all magic aging, like from divine intervention and curses).

I think you get "difficult" dungeons because you explore too freely and end up in some mid-game or end-game dungeon. Let's say Temple of Baa in Castle Ironfist is quite difficult but doable, but Snergle Caverns located in the same area is brutally difficult for a lot of players. Some dungeons have enemies inflicting status effects, others have numerous powerful enemies, so even balanced party can have some problems.
