You are not missing much by not eating bacon, but pork is a heavenly meat. Roasted pork just keeps oozing delicious juices that go well with rice. Pork belly is delicious, trotters are great in stews, the loin is amazing rolled up with herbs, butter and vegetables inside and covered with a pan sauce, Boston butt is really tasty with onions, and served with starches, there is a hundred ways of using ham, and while overrated, ribs are still an amazing meat.

Only now are we discovering however they are actually very intelligent creatures, how generally fantastic they are for soil and plant growth and how massively useful they are at getting rid of waste foods the average human being could not eat.

Even in cultures that had no issues eating pork pigs were considered filthy and dangerous. Bear in mind that the cute pink blob pigs are a relatively recent invention. For most of our history pigs were semi-feral boar-like black hairy beasts and they were known to cause trouble in towns. People were hired just for chasing pigs out of settlements and into forests.
And their shit smells *really* bad. No other livestock compares.
