Having needed to use Reddit for a couple of games lately (games that were very historically far more /v/ dominated than reddit dominated too, which is pathetic) I've not found that to be true.
Best solution has generally been Discord but I'm not autistic and have the ability to talk to people. Absolutely sucks for information being searchable though.
