This hacking minigame is incredibly frustrating and unfair. They only give you four attempts to randomly guess the correct password from a pool of around twenty words. It's practically a game of pure chance, relying entirely on RNG, which makes the whole process feel utterly ridiculous and infuriating.

You just quick save and quick load until you get it right. I do the same with the lock picking one. I played them a couple of times and quickly got bored so I just decided to do that instead. You can decide to have more fun by getting rid of the shit that sucks

All bait aside, clicking the special characters to get more tries is kind of a dumb mechanics. Why not just give you that many tries to begin with?

First time playing F3 I actually thought you only got one shot at guessing the password. That seemed right. It wasn't impossible, but unless you got better perks you would struggle.
But no, of course the game refuses to be harsh towards the player. You have unlimited tries, even as a low Int character.

This is the only hacking mini game that I ever liked on account that the objective is to extrapolate a password from a bunch of what I assume is a mess of key logs in an ancient, semi-functioning computer, ergo it actually "feels" like your character is breaking into a system with credentials exposed through esoteric means.

It's kind of neat. Most of the time, they just make a timed mini game out of it involving shaped or timing for some reason. Also I rarely lost because you can just >>725018260
