Reminder that this giant Xbox blunder seems like it was a bit of corporate sabotage on Sony's part. The prevailing theory is that Microsoft was essentially spying on Sony's future plans for their new console, and Sony led Microsoft to believe they were going to announce a bunch of consumer unfriendly practices like in OPs pic such as forcing always being online, making it so you couldn't sell or share used games, etc.
This paved the way for Sony to show up at E3 after Microsoft's disastrous showcase and auto-win the next console generation by going "lol all that faggy shit Microsoft is doing? we aren't doing any of that shit".
