Street Fighter V
Does it actually deserve the praise its getting nowadays?
Anonymous No.725043134 [Report]
I hope not. I'm getting tired of people praising shitty games just because they're 10 years old now.

Only because SF6 doubled down on SFV's mistakes.

Great Roster, bad game, bad graphics, the illusion of not having to pay for DLC, and V-trigger blows

It's better than SF6.

Sorta, it redeemed itself but its still not that fun.

Yes. SFV had a horrible launch, but after years of updates, it has genuinely become one of the better Street Fighter titles. It's unfortunate that there are so many casuals who only played the game at launch, dropped it, never gave it another chance, and are still under this incorrect impression that SFV is still a bad game.

No, because no one is playing it anymore
Anonymous No.725049406 [Report]
what praise?
nobody even talks about this game besides the schizoids that got attached to it

the netcode sucks
Anonymous No.725050351 [Report] >>725050489
It had its ups and downs
>Abysmal release, rushed just for esports
>Drove away a lot of cool people in the scene because of the intense focus on said esports
>Arcade Edition fixed a lot of stuff and started bringing some cool characters
>...but they also heavily nerfed getting fight money from missions so this was the actual grave of 'play the game to unlock characters'
>Champion Edition continued the trend and almost tied a niece bow towards the game's end
>...except for Luke, who is on an S-tier of his own. The last fucking DLC character is the fucking best of all

/v/ likes it either cuz babies first fightan, or just pure contrarianism over 6; barely anyone here liked 'duty fighter 5' and most circlejerked around the good old times of USFIV or the resident 3S negros

Personally I liked the offensive and defensive capabilities of the v-system. G and Oro were sick as fuck too

Ah yeah, and also >>725049823. I had forgotten how fucking dogshit the netcode was, we have it so good with 6 now
Anonymous No.725050605 [Report] >>725053194
If capcom released this and usf4 with better netcode for the next anniversary collection I could see it getting more players, wouldn't surpass 6 but it will probably have as many players as 3S's fightcade lobby at least.

to be fair unless you were playing western stuff like ki or late mkx, it had the best netcode at the time until strive came out over 5 years later

>nowadays
It got praise starting from s3.5/4 by actual competent players btw. Everyone got their opinions solidified by daigo/tokido/infil/etc saying the game sucked early on, but when the same pros said "yeah this game is very good now" they went deaf blind and mute.
The 09ers who were fundie-less got left behind and as a result they got bitter over the better game.

i don't know about praised but i hope, this game gets some sort of steam integration or it gets free from cfn, no matter good bad, good netcode bad netcode, these games should be at least playable online, without dependence of some kind of servers, that you never know when will go down.
steam is pretty safe bet but even if steam goes down there are other server emulators you can kind of self host to some extend, like godberg emu, smartsteam emu, i have actually tried games like kof 2002 um online without steam, using goldberg + zerotier.
i hope capcom does that or else it will go down in dust.

that would be dope but its probably gonna be a better version of the trash fire that was SF30th

Yes, because there’s no Drive Rush and it has playable Urien.

not really, now yes it is a far sight better now than it was on launch and has some interesting characters that got added in the later seasons, keyword later seasons, the early characters are at best bland or at worse terrible, and the model quality is all over the fucking place but usually the early ones look really bad with the newer ones looking much better.
Actual gameplay, well it better but the v system was never good, few characters actually used it to any good effect, many straight up only have one viable option and many feel handicapped when they don't have it active, so the game is just kinda full.
SF6 for all it's fault had a miles better launch and it's base system actually feels like it had some thought put into it which reflects in how SF6 is more popular than SFV could ever dream of.

But SFV Dan is the best Dan so that's something.
