I agree. It's way overtuned. I can deal with wind and spiders, and even the whole spore business, but the zombies just take away from it instead of adding.
It also seems opposed to other biomes from a game design perspective. It's the first biome in which you have enemies actively chasing you around unprompted. Mesa's scorpions pale in comparison; they're just there and don't actively seek out scouts unless you're pretty much right next to one already. Even Myers can't compare either, as he spawns on specific conditions and only under those conditions, and he only targets a single player who fulfilled said conditions.
The almost utter absence of those big fuckass trees on the climb itself is also pretty strange, but I'm attributing that to today's seed. Maybe it'll be better on a different seed.

Is it possible to turn zombie outside of the roots? Do you take a particular mushroom with you and then chunk a bunch in another biome?

If the Cure-All heals when it explodes then this gives it some depth when you're on the last use, letting you choose between a safe single heal or holding onto it for a group heal.

Ok, so the Cure All has half effectiveness when cooked, except for hunger which only restores 1/3 of its normal value for some reason.
